    About Narendra Modi Stadium

    The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is the world’s largest cricket stadium, with a seating capacity of 114,600 and a total capacity of 132,000. It replaced the old Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium and was built between 2015 and 2020 by Larsen & Toubro, designed by Australia’s Populous, costing ₹800 crore. Originally called Motera Stadium, it was renamed in 2021 after India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. The stadium has hosted major matches, including the 2023 ODI World Cup final and India’s first day-night Test in 2021 against England. It also hosted the 2022 National Games opening ceremony.
