UP-W vs MUM-W: List of Commentators and Umpires, WPL 2025 Today Match

UP Warriorz, led by Deepti Sharma, will face Mumbai Indians on Thursday in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The UP team is struggling with poor form and must secure a win against Mumbai at any cost. Having lost two consecutive matches, their hopes of reaching the playoffs now depend on this crucial game. In their last match at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Gujarat Giants defeated them by a massive margin.

The 81-run loss against Gujarat pushed them to the bottom of the points table and further dented their net run rate. With only two matches remaining, they must avoid a third consecutive defeat. In WPL’s first match in Lucknow, Beth Mooney played a brilliant innings, helping Gujarat Giants post 186/5, the third-highest score of the season. However, despite a batting-friendly pitch, Warriorz batters failed completely.

Their experiment of sending Georgia Voll at number three also backfired, and they lost six wickets for just 48 runs within 10 overs. So far, Alyssa Healy has scored 138 runs at a strike rate of over 209 and has been their most aggressive batter. UP may send Voll to open again, while Grace Harris will have a key role in the middle order. Captain Deepti Sharma, who has remained quiet with the bat so far, needs to step up and lead from the front.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians are in a much better position, sitting third on the points table with six points. They have a chance to finish at the top and directly qualify for the final. In WPL, the table-topper gets a direct final entry, while the second and third-placed teams play the Eliminator. With three matches left, Mumbai will aim to secure the top spot. For that, captain Harmanpreet Kaur must convert her good starts into big innings.
