The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to witness significant changes in the coaching staff of several franchises. According to a report by News18, the Gujarat Titans (GT) might also see changes in their support staff. Head coach Ashish Nehra and Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki are reportedly set to end their association with the team ahead of IPL 2025. GT had a disappointing last season, finishing eighth on the points table under the captaincy of Shubman Gill, who took over from Hardik Pandya.

Nehra and Solanki joined GT in IPL 2022 and led the team to a maiden title in their debut season, a remarkable achievement. The Titans also had a successful run in IPL 2023, reaching the final where they were defeated by Chennai Super Kings. However, this year, they failed to qualify for the playoffs, struggling to replace their all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was traded to Mumbai Indians, and missing the services of the injured Mohammad Shami.

The report indicates that GT is in discussions with Yuvraj Singh to join the coaching staff as Nehra and Solanki are expected to leave. A source close to the developments said, “A lot of changes are on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on, and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalized right now, but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans.”

Yuvraj has previously mentored GT skipper Shubman Gill, sharing a great camaraderie off the field, although the legendary all-rounder lacks coaching experience in the IPL. Gary Kirsten, who served as the Titans’ assistant coach for the past three seasons, has already left to become the head coach of the Pakistan cricket team. Other coaching staff members, including Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi, and Mithun Manhas, are also expected to depart if Nehra and Solanki leave the franchise.
