The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is just around the corner, with the tournament set to take place in Pakistan. It will kick off on Wednesday, February 19, and the final will be played on March 9. The history of the Champions Trophy has been a good one for the Indian team.

This will be the 9th edition of the Champions Trophy. So far, both India and Australia have won the title twice. The first joint title was won by India and Sri Lanka in the 2002 season, which was held in Sri Lanka. In the 2013 season, under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India clinched the title.

After 2013, the Champions Trophy was held in England in 2017, where Pakistan won the tournament for the first time. The tournament was scheduled for 2021, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed. Now, after nearly 8 years, the tournament will be held again.

ICC has revealed the umpires and match referees for the tournament. Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker, who are members of ICC Elite Panel of Umpires are ready to officiate in Champions Trophy matches.
