The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin, and all 10 teams are preparing for IPL 2025. This season will start on March 22, with the first match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Here’s a look at RCB’s probable playing XI for their opening match.

RCB has built a strong squad this year. For the first time in years, the team seems to have no major weaknesses. They have several T20 specialists, and their pace bowling attack looks solid. Additionally, the team has multiple all-rounders, adding more balance.

RCB’s opening pair is likely to feature Virat Kohli alongside England’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt. In the middle order, captain Rajat Patidar is expected to bat at number three. Jitesh Sharma, a hard-hitting T20 batsman, could take the number four spot, as he is known for his ability to score runs quickly.

For the finishing role, RCB has some strong options. Tim David is expected to bat at number five, while Liam Livingstone will be at number six. All-rounder Krunal Pandya will provide extra stability at number seven. This gives RCB a solid batting lineup from the top to number seven.

In the bowling department, the pace attack looks impressive. Bhuvneshwar Kumar will lead the fast-bowling unit, supported by Rasikh Dar Salam, Yash Dayal, Josh Hazlewood, and Romario Shepherd. In the spin department, Suyash Sharma will be a key player, while Krunal Pandya and Liam Livingstone can also contribute as spin-bowling all-rounders.

    RCB’s predicted playing XI:

    1. Phil Salt
    2. Virat Kohli
    3. Rajat Patidar (Captain)
    4. Jitesh Sharma (Wicketkeeper)
    5. Tim David
    6. Liam Livingstone
    7. Krunal Pandya
    8. Josh Hazlewood / Romario Shepherd
    9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
    10. Rasikh Dar Salam
    11. Yash Dayal

With this lineup, RCB looks well-prepared for IPL 2025. Their strong batting, all-round options, and solid bowling attack make them a strong contender this season.
