The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin, and all 10 teams are preparing for IPL 2025. This season will start on March 22, with the first match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Here’s a look at RCB’s probable playing XI for their opening match.
RCB has built a strong squad this year. For the first time in years, the team seems to have no major weaknesses. They have several T20 specialists, and their pace bowling attack looks solid. Additionally, the team has multiple all-rounders, adding more balance.
RCB’s opening pair is likely to feature Virat Kohli alongside England’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt. In the middle order, captain Rajat Patidar is expected to bat at number three. Jitesh Sharma, a hard-hitting T20 batsman, could take the number four spot, as he is known for his ability to score runs quickly.
For the finishing role, RCB has some strong options. Tim David is expected to bat at number five, while Liam Livingstone will be at number six. All-rounder Krunal Pandya will provide extra stability at number seven. This gives RCB a solid batting lineup from the top to number seven.
