IPL Auction: KL Rahul Interested in RCB Return, Open to Non-Captaincy Role

Must read

KL Rahul has expressed his excitement for the upcoming IPL mega auction and is open to rejoining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He said he would love to play at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, his home ground, after leaving Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

LSG’s decision not to retain Rahul after three years surprised many. The IPL auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24-25, and Rahul is expected to be one of the most expensive players.

Rahul said he is open to playing anywhere and does not consider captaincy a must. “I won’t ask for captaincy. If a team believes in my leadership, I’ll be happy to do it. But it’s not a dealbreaker for me,” he stated. He emphasised wanting to be part of a team where he feels supported and respected.

Explaining his departure from LSG, Rahul said he needed a fresh start with a team that has a balanced and relaxed environment, similar to Gujarat or CSK. He added that while LSG had a good atmosphere, sometimes a change is needed for growth.
