Sakshi Malik announced in 2016 after the Rio Olympics that she was engaged to a fellow wrestler named Satyawart Kadian. The couple decided to get married on 2 April 2017.
Satyawart Kadian, the husband of Sakshi Malik was born on 9th November 1993. Sakshi Malik’s husband first represented India at the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympics where he won a bronze medal in the boys’ freestyle 100 kg category.
Satyawart Kadian then went on to represent India in the 2014 Commonwealth Games and win a silver medal in the 97 kg weight class.
Sakshi Malik’s husband, Satyawart Kadian is the son of Satyawan Kadian, an Arjuna Awardee and 1988 Summer Olympics Olympian. Satyawart trained under the tutelage of his father in Akhada in childhood and broke into the national camp in 2012 after a stellar performance at the 2012 Nationals in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.
