At just 14 years old, Vaibhav Suryavanshi accomplished a feat that even many cricketing greats couldn’t. The left-handed batter stunned the world by smashing a century in just 35 balls in the IPL. His explosive innings left everyone in awe, and he received praise from all around the globe. However, amid the applause, some have raised questions about his age.

One such name is Olympic bronze medallist and former boxer Vijender Singh. He made a shocking allegation suggesting that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s age might be falsified.

What Did Vijender Singh Say?

After watching Vaibhav’s breathtaking performance, Vijender took to social media platform X and posted: “These days, people are reducing their age to play cricket too.” His post quickly went viral. While some supported him, many fans criticised his comment and responded, “Don’t look at his age, look at his talent.”

Why Are Age Fraud Allegations Being Made Against Vaibhav Suryavanshi?

The main reason behind these allegations is Vaibhav’s physical build and power. Though officially 14, his tall frame and the ability to hit 90-meter sixes have raised eyebrows. Such power-hitting is extremely rare at this age. However, it’s worth noting that Vaibhav has never failed any age-verification test conducted in BCCI’s age-group cricket.
