If these players miss the Cricket World Cup then definitely a huge section of cricketing fraternity would be disappointed. Here are the five cricketers who may miss the ODI World Cup 2023.
1. Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson is named in the squad of New Zealand for ODI World Cup 2023 and is also declared as the captain for the upcoming tournament. However, Williamson has already said that he is still not 100% fit and it would be a huge task for him to attain the match fitness before World Cup 2023. If Willy misses out the ODI World Cup then New Zealand are going to be in huge trouble.
2. Shreyas Iyer
The Indian batting stalwart is dealing with a back injury and recently returned to action after a successful back surgery. However, Iyer has again picked up a back problem and that made him miss the last couple of matches in Asia Cup 2023. There is a huge controversy surrounding his match fitness and the way things are moving it seems that Iyer is not going to play the ODI World Cup 2023.
3. Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah is ruled out of Asia Cup 2023 due to a shoulder injury that came back to haunt him in the India vs Pakistan clash in the tournament. The young Pakistani pacer picked up an injury in the recently concluded Sri Lanka Premier League and is still struggling to get over it. He needs proper rest to recover and play for Pakistan in the future. This means that he could miss the ODI World Cup 2023.
