The first match of IPL 2025 will be played on Saturday, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) set to face off. Fans can watch the match live from their homes as the IPL will be broadcast on both TV and mobile apps. Interestingly, viewers will once again have the option to watch IPL for free, but with a condition.
How to Watch IPL 2025 for Free?
JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar have now merged. Last season, IPL was streamed completely free on JioCinema. However, this time, there is a condition: Jio users who recharge their plans with ₹299 or more will get a free JioHotstar subscription. This will allow them to watch IPL 2025 for free. This offer is valid only for the IPL season starting on March 22. If users do not have a Jio recharge, they will need to buy at least a ₹149 subscription to access the matches.

Where to Watch IPL 2025 on TV?
IPL 2025 will be broadcast live on the Star Sports Network. Viewers will have the option to enjoy commentary in multiple regional languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu, among others. Some IPL matches might also be available for free on Star Utsav Movies, but there is no official confirmation yet.
Opening Ceremony Before KKR vs RCB Match
Before the first match, an opening ceremony will be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on March 22. Several Bollywood celebrities are expected to perform at the event. IPL organizers have invited Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, and Karan Aujla to entertain the fans before the tournament officially begins.
