Both Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals will look to bounce back after suffering defeats in their last matches. While Rajasthan has shown a mixed performance so far in IPL 2025, Delhi faced their first loss of the season in their previous outing. Under the captaincy of Axar Patel, Delhi had won four consecutive matches before being defeated by Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. This loss pushed Delhi down from the top spot to second place on the points table.

Expensive Bowling Cost Rajasthan Against RCB

Rajasthan Royals were handed a comprehensive defeat by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their last match played in Jaipur. The Royals batted slowly, and apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, none of their batters played a significant innings. The bowling unit also disappointed, with RCB batters – especially Phil Salt – taking on Jofra Archer and the rest of the attack to post a commanding total.

Karun Nair Shined as an Impact Player

Delhi’s Karun Nair, making his debut this season, delivered an outstanding knock of 89 runs off just 40 balls against Mumbai Indians. He came in as an Impact Player and helped Delhi race to 119/1 in 11 overs. However, the team collapsed soon after, losing their remaining nine wickets for just 74 runs. Three Delhi batters were run out in the final three balls of the 19th over, and the team eventually lost the match by 12 runs. After Karun’s impressive innings, it will be interesting to see whether Delhi includes him in the main Playing XI or continues to use him as an Impact Player.

Spinners Could Be the Key Again

Spinners could once again play a crucial role for Delhi. Despite the defeat in the last match, both Kuldeep Yadav and 20-year-old Vipraj Nigam bowled impressively. However, Axar Patel has yet to make an impact this season – he has bowled 14 overs in six matches without taking a wicket and has conceded runs at an economy of over 10 per over.
