Arjun Talwar Story in Jersey Movie

Arjun Talwar was a great cricketer from Chandigarh, known for his amazing batting records. In 1986, he hoped to join the Indian national team, but a misprint crushed his dreams, and he quit cricket. He married Vidya and had a son, Kittu. However, life became tough when he lost his job unfairly. By 1996, they struggled financially, and Kittu wished for an Indian cricket jersey for his birthday. Arjun tried everything to buy one but failed. To earn money, he played a charity match, impressing everyone, but the fees went to charity. Feeling ashamed, he decided to return to cricket.

At 36, Arjun surprised everyone with his skills and got selected for the Ranji Trophy. He played brilliantly, leading Punjab to victory in the finals despite his secret health issue. Sadly, he passed away soon after due to heart failure. Years later, journalist Jasleen Shergill wrote his biography, Jersey, and it was revealed that Arjun was actually selected for the Indian team. His grown-up son Ketan received a jersey with Arjun’s name on it, fulfilling his childhood dream. Ketan proudly said that his father never lost—he kept fighting till the very end.
