Dhruv Jurel, born in Agra on January 21, 2001, discovered his passion for cricket during a summer camp at his school. He honed his skills through youth cricket, representing Uttar Pradesh at various levels including U-14, U-16, and U-19. His Twenty20 debut came on January 10, 2021, for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Notably, he was appointed vice-captain for India’s squad in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In February 2022, he was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals during the IPL auction. His first-class debut occurred on February 17, 2022, for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. Jurel’s impactful debut for Rajasthan Royals, scoring 32*(15) against Punjab Kings in April 2023, solidified his position in the team.
He marked his List A debut on July 14, 2023, playing for India A against United Arab Emirates A in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. His consistent performances earned him a call-up to the Indian team for the first two tests against England in January 2024.
