The Eliminator match of IPL 2025 between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans will be played on Friday in Mullanpur. The losing team will be knocked out of the tournament, while the winner will move on to Qualifier 2, where they will face Punjab Kings on Sunday. The team that wins Qualifier 2 will enter the final and take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on June 3.
RCB secured their spot in the final after defeating Punjab Kings on Thursday. Both Gujarat and Mumbai had a chance to finish at the top of the points table during the group stage, but both teams missed the opportunity. Gujarat lost their last two matches and finished third on the table. On the other hand, Mumbai seemed to be in good form but lost two of their last three games, which led to Hardik Pandya’s team finishing in fourth place.
Will rain disrupt the match?
Rain has interrupted a few matches this IPL season, but the chances of rain during the Eliminator match in Mullanpur are very low. According to the weather department, there is no rain forecast for the match time, and the weather is expected to remain clear. This is good news for fans, as they are likely to enjoy the full match without any weather interruptions.

Who benefits if the match is washed out?
Even though the chances of rain are almost nil, if rain does wash out the match and it cannot be played, Gujarat Titans will move ahead to Qualifier 2. This is because Gujarat finished third on the points table, ahead of Mumbai, who ended the group stage in fourth place. So, if the match is washed out, Mumbai will be eliminated.
No Reserve Day for the Eliminator
There is no reserve day for the Eliminator match. Qualifier 2 is scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on Sunday, just one day after the Eliminator. The Qualifier 1 match between Punjab and RCB was also played in Mullanpur, and the weather remained clear throughout that game as well.
