Hardik Pandya’s father’s name is Himanshu Pandya. Himanshu used to run a small car finance business in Surat but had to shut it down to move to Baroda to allow his kids to pursue cricket. Hardik was just five when the family moved from Surat to Baroda.
Himanshu worked as a loan agent and admitted his sons to Kiran More’s Cricket Academy. Himanshu had suffered numerous heart attacks during Hardik’s playing times. However, he passed away on January 16, 2021, due to cardiac arrest at the age of 71.
At the time of his demise, his elder son Krunal was captaining Baroda in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, after receiving the news of his father’s demise, Krunal left the tournament. Reacting to Hardik’s father’s death, his teammates also paid their condolences on X.
Hardik Pandya’s mother, Nalini Pandya was born in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat and got married to Himanshu Pandya in 1989. After two years of her marriage, she gave birth to her first child Krunal in 1991. In 1993, she gave birth to another baby boy, whom today we know as Hardik Pandya.
Hardik Pandya has an elder brother whose name is Krunal Pandya. Like Hardik, Krunal is also a professional cricketer, who has represented India in white-ball cricket. From 2016-21, Krunal and his brother played for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Krunal has played along with Hardik in teams like India, Baroda and Mumbai Indians at various levels of his professional career. With their success in their cricket journeys, both Hardik and Krunal have purchased two luxurious apartments in Mumbai and Baroda respectively.
