    India’s most recent Test match at Melbourne was in 2020, when they won by 8 wickets. Ajinkya Rahane played a crucial role in this victory, scoring 112 runs, which helped India secure the win.

    Australia’s Dominance at the Ground

    On the other hand, Australia has played 116 Tests at Melbourne, winning 67, losing 32, and drawing 17. The Australian team has always performed well at this ground, making it a tough challenge for India to beat them here.

    With the series tied at 1-1, both teams will look to win the upcoming Test at Melbourne to gain the lead in the series. Additionally, the match is crucial for both teams in terms of qualifying for the World Test Championship final. Australia is currently second, and India is third in the points table. To reach the final, India must win both remaining Tests in the series.
