India is set to begin its ICC Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on Thursday. This time, Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for the tournament. However, due to security concerns, India refused to travel to Pakistan. As a result, the ICC decided to schedule all of India’s matches in Dubai, and the tournament is being played in a hybrid model. India will play all its matches at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Ahead of the first match, fans are keen to know about the pitch conditions in Dubai.
All matches in this tournament will start at 2:30 PM IST. There is a 60-minute time difference between Dubai and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with India. However, despite this, the matches will be played according to Pakistan’s time, starting at 2:00 PM local time, which means they will begin at 2:30 PM IST.
IND vs BAN, CT 2025: Dubai Stadium Pitch Report
Talking about the pitch in Dubai, it is considered balanced for both batsmen and bowlers. For this tournament, two fresh pitches have been prepared, even though the ILT20 league was recently played here. However, the UAE Cricket Board had informed the organizers in advance that two of the ten pitches at this venue should be kept fresh for the Champions Trophy.
As a result, fast bowlers are expected to get assistance in the early stages of the game. As the match progresses, spinners are also likely to find some help. This surface will also be favorable for batsmen—while fast bowlers may initially benefit, batting will become easier as the match goes on. Therefore, a balanced contest is expected on this pitch.
Regarding the weather in Dubai, the conditions on match day will be warm. However, Thursday morning may see some cloud cover, which could help fast bowlers swing the ball in the initial overs. But as the day progresses, the sky will clear up, and bright sunshine is expected. The maximum temperature in Dubai will reach 27°C, while the minimum will be around 22°C.
