Team India encountered significant setbacks as key players KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were declared unfit for the second Test, slated to begin on Friday in Vizag. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the injuries in a statement and also announced the inclusion of Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar in the squad.
Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury during Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad, while Rahul complained of right quadriceps pain. Both players have been ruled out of the upcoming Test, and the BCCI medical team is closely monitoring their progress. With three more Tests in the series after Vizag, the availability of these players remains uncertain.
“The Men’s Selection Committee have added Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar to India’s squad,” mentioned the BCCI statement.
