After registering a remarkable win in their previous match, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are now set to face Mumbai Indians (MI). Both teams are currently outside the top four in the points table. In the match against Punjab Kings, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head impressed with aggressive batting while chasing a big target. However, this time they’ll face the challenge of Jasprit Bumrah, who has recently returned from injury.
Bumrah Yet to Regain His Rhythm
Having made a comeback after three months due to injury, Bumrah is still searching for his old rhythm that once made him the most feared fast bowler in world cricket. Mumbai will be banking on their star pacer to put a check on SRH’s explosive batting line-up. So far, MI have won just two matches and are placed 7th on the points table. On the other hand, SRH have also won only two out of six games and currently sit at the 9th spot.
Rohit Sharma’s Form a Big Concern
For the five-time champions Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma’s poor form is becoming a major issue. Though he has shown an attacking approach, he has struggled especially against left-arm pacers. In five matches so far, Rohit has scored just 56 runs at an average of 11.20. Mumbai’s batting has largely depended on Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, but for the team to improve its position, Rohit will need to step up and play a big innings.
Will SRH Make Changes?
Considering Rohit’s vulnerability against left-arm pace, SRH might include Jaydev Unadkat in their playing XI. SRH rely heavily on their batting, but the lack of consistency among their key batters has hurt their performance. All eyes will also be on Ishan Kishan in this match, who will be eager to perform well against his former franchise. Although Wankhede Stadium generally favours batters, bowlers will also look to make use of the bounce on offer.
