Punjab Kings have been putting up an impressive performance in IPL 2025. In their last match held in Dharamsala, the team delivered a dominant display by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 37 runs. This win has significantly strengthened Punjab’s chances of making it to the playoffs. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are also firmly in the race for the playoffs and will be aiming to continue their momentum when they face Punjab Kings on Thursday.

The match will take place at Punjab’s second home ground, the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Once again, all eyes will be on Punjab’s explosive batting line-up, which will be tested by Delhi’s strong bowling attack. Both teams will look to field their best possible playing XI for this crucial encounter.

    Will Punjab Make a Change?

Punjab will aim to secure two more points and climb to the top of the table. However, that won’t be an easy task against a well-performing Delhi side. To strengthen their lineup, Punjab might consider making one change. Explosive all-rounder Glenn Maxwell could be brought in to replace Josh Inglis. Although Maxwell hasn’t made a significant impact this season, the conditions in Dharamsala might suit his powerful hitting. If Maxwell is included, Marcus Stoinis might be left out, and Prabhsimran Singh could take over wicketkeeping duties. Other than this, the team is expected to remain unchanged.

What Will Be Delhi’s Playing XI?

Delhi also desperately needs a win. They currently have 13 points from 11 matches. Their previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad was washed out due to rain, with both teams sharing a point. Delhi captain Axar Patel will be looking to try every possible strategy to secure a win. However, based on their overall performance and squad stability, Delhi is unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI. Any tactical shifts may come through impact player substitutions depending on whether they bat or bowl first.
