In the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final, Team India defeated New Zealand by four wickets, securing a historic victory. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning all five of their matches. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, the team’s performance impressed everyone. Despite playing on Dubai’s slow pitches, India successfully chased targets in four matches to claim the title.
Before the start of the tournament, there was widespread speculation regarding Rohit Sharma’s retirement. However, after lifting the trophy, Rohit put an end to all the rumors with his statement.
“I Am Not Retiring from ODIs Yet” – Rohit Sharma
Speaking at the post-match press conference, Rohit clarified his stance on retirement, stating:
“I want to make it clear that I am not retiring yet. Future decisions will be taken based on upcoming plans, but for now, things will continue as they are. I dedicate this trophy to the people of India, as they all wanted us to win it.”
Rohit Sharma Shines in the Final
Throughout the group stage and semi-final, Rohit Sharma had struggled to score big runs. However, in the final against New Zealand, he delivered a crucial knock of 76 runs off 83 balls, playing a key role in India’s triumph.
