IND vs NZ, CT 2025 Final: How Crucial is the Toss at the Dubai Ground? Stats from the Last 10 Matches Prove It

The final match of the Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9. Team India remains unbeaten in the tournament so far, whereas New Zealand’s only loss came against India in the group stage. Given the current form of both teams, fans are expecting a thrilling contest.

The pitch at Dubai Stadium has been a major talking point ahead of this crucial final, with many believing that the toss could play a key role. So far, four matches have been played at this venue in the tournament, including the semifinal between India and Australia, where the pitch was batting-friendly, and India successfully chased down 265 runs. However, it is still unclear which pitch will be used for the final.

Dubai Stadium Stats- Last 10 Matches

Looking at the last 10 matches at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the chasing team has won 7 times. Although the pitch here is generally slow, batting becomes slightly easier in the evening. This means that the team winning the toss may find it challenging to decide whether to bat first or bowl.

India has played four matches at this venue in Champions Trophy 2025, winning three of them while chasing. Interestingly, in the last 10 ODIs at this stadium, the team winning the toss has lost five times, indicating that the toss does not always guarantee victory.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner also shared his views on the toss ahead of the final. After New Zealand’s semifinal win against South Africa, Santner said, “When we played India in the group stage, our bowlers performed well. We would like to win the toss in the final too.”

Notably, the Champions Trophy 2000 final between India and New Zealand also featured these two teams, where New Zealand won by 4 wickets.
