The excitement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is at its peak, with the final scheduled for May 25. As of April 1, 13 matches have been played. In the meantime, a significant update has come in. Due to security concerns, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the date of one of the matches.
BCCI has decided to reschedule the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) originally set for April 6. This match was supposed to take place at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, but due to the Ram Navami festival, the match will now be held on April 8.

The match will still be played in Kolkata, despite initial speculations that it might be moved to Guwahati. The BCCI issued a statement saying, “Kolkata Police requested the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) to change the schedule of this match due to heavy police deployment across the city for the festival.”
The statement further mentioned, “Authorities have requested that the match be held at 3:30 PM on April 8, and this request has been accepted. Now, on April 8, two matches will be held: KKR vs LSG in the afternoon, and Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings in the evening at New Chandigarh.”
