LSG vs MI - IPL 2025

Though Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have had the upper hand against Mumbai Indians (MI) in past encounters, the five-time champions won’t make it easy this time. For the hosts, captain Rishabh Pant’s poor form and the bowling unit’s weak performance remain areas of concern. Meanwhile, boosted by a commanding win over Kolkata, a star-studded Mumbai Indians squad will be aiming to continue their winning momentum against Lucknow.

However, MI is also worried about Rohit Sharma’s lack of form. On the other hand, Lucknow has the advantage of playing at home and will look to bounce back with a win. For that to happen, skipper Rishabh Pant must break his silence with the bat, and the bowlers will need to step up their game.

    Focus on Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma, also known as ‘Hitman’, has scored only 21 runs in the first three matches and is yet to make an impact. However, he has a good record in Lucknow. Alongside him, players like Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Ryan Rickelton are capable of playing big innings. In the bowling department, MI will rely on Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and young Ashwini Kumar.

Aakashdeep’s Return a Boost for Lucknow
LSG’s pace attack gets a boost with the return of Aakashdeep. The pacer, who debuted for RCB in IPL 2022, has played 8 matches over three seasons and taken 7 wickets. Bought by LSG for ₹8 crore in the mega auction, he was sidelined due to injury. Now cleared by the NCA, he is fit and ready to play.

    Probable Playing 11s:

    Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):
Rishabh Pant (Captain & WK), Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Abdul Samad, Digvijay Singh Rathore, Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi.

    Mumbai Indians (MI):
Ryan Rickelton (WK), Rohit Sharma, Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (Captain), Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Trent Boult, Ashwini Kumar, Vignesh Puthur.
